Case study: Local search and web
Local landing page frameworks for brands with hundreds of locations
Replacing templated city pages with a location page framework built for search: unique content, server-side rendering and structured data on every page.
100s
of locations per framework
90 days
from launch to thousands of monthly local visits for clients starting at zero
500+
words of unique content per page
Context
Multi-location brands had either no local pages or templated pages with only the city name swapped, which search engines ignore.
The challenge
Create hundreds of pages that each deserve to rank, keep them consistent with every listing, and make them fast and crawlable.
What was done
- Planned the architecture first: a hub and spoke model with location hubs, location pages and contextually linked service pages
- Built on React and Next.js with server-side rendering so pages were fast and easy to crawl
- Gave every page a clean URL, canonical tags, LocalBusiness structured data and contact details matching each Google Business Profile exactly
- Required genuinely local content on each page: the market, a map, location-specific reviews and links to related services
- Built a tool that generates location pages at scale and grades each one before it publishes
Results
- Clients starting from zero local organic traffic reached thousands of monthly visits within about 90 days of launch
- Location data stayed consistent between the website and listings
- Architecture documents agreed before development saved weeks of rework
What it means for you
Location pages work when each one is real content, not a template. They're also the pages AI assistants read when someone asks for a provider near them.
